The Foreign Languages Department at James Madison University is accepting applications for a part-time instructor to be included in a pool that will be utilized to fill part-time openings. We seek part-time instructors to teach Italian Language courses at the beginner and intermediate levels. The position is for one semester and may be renewed. This position is not eligible for benefits.

The start date is January 7th, 2019. The end date is May 2nd, 2019.

Duties and Responsibilities
Teach 3-credit hour and 4-credit hour courses or a combination of the two at the elementary and intermediate levels. Being available to students during office hours. Participate in all the meetings of the Italian division. Contribute to co-curricular activities organized by the Italian division for all students enrolled in Italian courses. Manage courses through Canvas, the Learning Management System in use at James Madison University.

Qualifications
Minimum of a B.A. in Italian, Italian Studies, Linguistics with a specialization in teaching Italian as a second language. M.A. preferred. Native or native-like fluency in Italian. Prior experience teaching Italian as a foreign or second language in public/private schools, colleges, universities, Italian Cultural Institutes, private language schools in the U.S. or abroad.
